In practice this looks like the teaching of simple foundations - playing techniques, rhythmical ideas, group games or exercises that build towards deep and satisfying musical experiences for everyone. The resulting grooves and energy can be said to emerge from our groups rather than being imposed upon them. We find this makes a profound difference to people’s experiences whilst placing a shared responsibility and ownership on what we create together.

The emphasis in these sessions is community, so whatever your level, if you want to come together with a group for an hour and bang a drum in time, you are welcome. This practice, which has shown up in numerous cultures over decades, is a proven way to increase oxytocin (the wellbeing hormone), relieve stress, connect with others and feel good!
-
People of all ages are welcome. If you come with kids we encourage you to drum with them as this can be a lovely experience and means they have the pleasure of being absorbed into the larger energy of the group.
